To Everest Base Camp South, Nepal [3,520m/11,550ft]

To Everest Base Camp South, Nepal [3,520m/11,550ft]

This was shot by by my Sherpa Hari Bhai, who was walking a few steps behind me on the trail from Namche Bazaar (Nepali: नाम्चे बजार) to Tengboche (Nepali: तेंग्बोचे). This is the first glimpse climbers see of Mount Everest as you trek to Everest Base Camp South from Lukla. Everest is the peak at the center of the image, flanked by other 8,000 meter peaks Lhotse & Nuptse. Ama Dablam is other significant peak on the right.

As we gained elevation, my energy levels dropped and Hari's photography skills improved considerably.
